Elevating Our Expertise: A Day of Essential Legal Training with St Ives Chambers

At Elliot Mather LLP, our commitment to providing the highest level of service to our clients is unwavering. This necessitates continuous learning and professional development for our entire legal team. Last Friday was a standout example of this commitment, as we had the distinct pleasure of hosting an intensive training session delivered by three exceptional barristers from St Ives Chambers: Samuel Coe, James Cleary, and Katherine Hannigan.

The training was attended by our dedicated Care, Family, and Crime advocates, as well as members of our Mooting Skills Society, providing an invaluable opportunity for knowledge exchange and skill refinement across our key departments.

Key Insights and Practical Application

The session was carefully curated to address timely, complex, and practical areas of law:

Post-Adoption Contact: Navigating Complexities James Cleary led a deeply informative session on the crucial matter of post-adoption contact. James provided our team with an up-to-date analysis of the recent case law, clarified the current legal framework, and explored vital practical considerations for managing these sensitive cases. This expertise ensures our Family Law team can continue to guide clients through these delicate processes with confidence and clarity.

Sharpening Our Courtroom Presence Advocacy is at the heart of what we do. Samuel Coe facilitated an engaging and highly interactive session focused entirely on enhancing our courtroom presence and refining core advocacy skills. These practical exercises and expert tips are essential for ensuring our advocates can effectively represent our clients' interests in any judicial setting.

The Legal Landscape of XL Bullies In a session addressing a rapidly evolving and critical area, Katherine Hannigan explored the legal and safeguarding issues relating to XL Bullies. This topical discussion provided our advocates with a comprehensive understanding of the legal requirements and safeguarding responsibilities associated with the Dangerous Dogs Act and its recent amendments.

A Successful Collaboration

The feedback from our attending team members has been overwhelmingly positive. Events like these are crucial for our professional development and allow us to maintain a cutting edge in our respective fields.

We extend our sincere thanks to Samuel Coe, James Cleary, and Katherine Hannigan for generously sharing their time, deep expertise, and invaluable insights with our staff. We also recognise the organisational efforts of our own Hannah-Marie Davis and Stuart W. for seamlessly bringing this vital event together.

By continually investing in the knowledge and skills of our advocates, Elliot Mather LLP reinforces its dedication to achieving the best possible outcomes for all our clients. We look forward to future collaborations that uphold our shared commitment to legal excellence.
