Our Regulatory Law Department acts for both businesses and individuals who may face investigation or prosecution across a number of sectors.
We have recently advised across the following sectors: -
- Health & Safety Investigations
- Trading Standards investigations
- Fire Safety investigations
- Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulation and compliance
- Environmental Law
- Food Industry Regulation
- Firearms Licensing
- Professional Discipline & Regulation
We recognise the importance of prompt and pragmatic advice and the need for a collaborative approach with those who enforce the increasingly complex regulatory regimes. We are able to attend at very short notice with any clients required to attend PACE interviews to ensure that pro-active advice is available as soon as regulators commence their investigation. Where it is clear there has been a breach then our early intervention can give us the opportunity to discuss resolution of any breach without the need for a Court prosecution. If there is a prosecution, we can construct a thorough defence where appropriate or advise on a timely guilty plea to minimise any penalties which may be imposed.
We appreciate that often a multi-disciplinary approach is required and we can utilise our specialisms from our other departments including Employment Law, Criminal Defence, Commercial and Dispute Resolution to provide a seamless service.
